We are pleased to announce that the C-CDA R3.0 2024-08-09 Value Set Program Release is now available in the Value Set Authority Center (VSAC):

C-CDA Edition 3.0 merges the C-CDA R2.1 and the C-CDA Companion Guides, adds C-CDA enhancement requests, and incorporates new design and guidance for USCDI V4. Annual value set updates will occur to provide terminologies for USCDI releases and to address comments or requests from the US Realm C-CDA community.

This release contains 119 C-CDA value sets including 24 value sets shared with US Core Implementation Guide. This partial set is intended for use with C-CDA Edition 3.0 templates, available at: Consolidated CDA (C-CDA) Edition 3.0.

 For C-CDA R2.1 and C-CDA Companion Guide 4.1 value sets available in VSAC, refer to the August 15, 2023 VSAC C-CDA R2.1 Value Set Release package

As of this release, C-CDA 3.0 references a value set named UnitsOfMeasureCaseSensitive that is found in both VSAC and in THO. This value set has the same OID and logical definition in both locations. See https://jira.hl7.org/browse/CDA-21153 for more information.

• The Search button of the HL7 C-CDA Value Sets program block leads you to the VSAC Search Value Sets web browser, presorted by this HL7 CCDA release. The Download link leads you to the C-CDA Value Sets section of the Download tab and supplies prepackaged downloadable files.

VSAC Download Tab https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/download/ccda?rel=20240809 :

• From the download tab, you can download:
• Excel, pipe-delimited text files, and XML files of the C-CDA value sets;
• Code System Versions Currently in C-CDA R3.0 Value Sets;
• a list of C-CDA R3.0 Value Sets Available in VSAC;
• and, a list of C-CDA R3.0 Value Sets Unavailable in VSAC. Note: The published downloadable C-CDA R3.0 2024-08-09 excludes 12 C-CDA 3.0 value sets for which VSAC does not have the required supporting code systems.

VSAC Search Value Sets Tab https://vsac.nlm.nih.gov/valueset/expansions?pr=ccda :

• In the VSAC web browser, you can search, sort, filter and view details for all or individual C-CDA value sets; use the Export Search Results button to download a catalog of C-CDA value set expansions; increase the page view up to 300 rows and use the checkboxes to download all C-CDA value set expansions as Excel, XML, or Text files.
